This week in Christ's life… (24)

This week, Jesus is 24 weeks old.   His permanent teeth buds have come in beneath his baby teeth.  His nostrils are open and he is practicing breathing.  Air sacs have developed in his lungs. Auditory and visual brain waves have started, so that he will be able to input and process data after birth. He is now 168 days old, 9 inches long, and 1.25 pounds.  Infant Jesus, you raised us to heaven by taking on manhood.  Open all hearts to this truth and teach the world to reject the evil of abortion

Prayer for the Right to Life

O heavenly Father, strengthen us against the mounting forces of anti-life; enlighten those who walk in this deadly way that they may see the enormity of their sin and return to the generous observance of the divine law. We pray, too, for mothers, that they may prize the great privilege of motherhood; and that they may bring up their children in the holy love and fear of God, thus saving their own immortal souls and furthering the honor and glory of their Maker. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

that we may be worthy of the promises of Christ!

This week in Christ's life… (23)

This week, Jesus is 23 weeks old.   He daily hears the beating of Mary’s heart, the sound of her voice, and the muffled sounds of the voices around her.  He will startle and jump if he hears a loud noise.  Blood vessels have developed in his lungs, so that when he is born, oxygen will be able to circulate to his vital organs and systems.  Infant Jesus, you raised us to heaven by taking on manhood.  Open all hearts to this truth and teach the world to reject the evil of abortion.

This week, Jesus is 22 weeks old.  Even though this is the period that babies are considered viable outside the womb (22w gestational/24w LNMP weeks) with a 50% survival rate, every state allows abortion at this age.    Infant Jesus, you raised us to heaven by taking on manhood.  Open all hearts to this truth and teach the world to reject the evil of abortion.

This week in Christ's Life… (21)

This week, Jesus is 21 weeks old and his mother, Mary, has entered her sixth lunar month of pregnancy.   The bones of his inner ear have hardened, making hearing possible.  Child Jesus, growing in the womb, give us the strength to protect all people, especially the tiniest of growing babies.

This week in Christ's life… (20)

This week, Jesus is 20 weeks old.   His lungs are beginning to produce surfactant, which will allow them to inflate to breathe oxygen.   He can blink and he can grip his hands with force.  Child Jesus, growing in the womb, give us the strength to protect all people, especially the tiniest of growing babies.
