Manhattan Declaration

Thank you for your support of the Manhattan Declaration.

It is off to an amazing start - over 370,000 signers and growing. And it is indeed historic: Evangelicals, Catholics, Anglicans, and Eastern Orthodox Christians uniting to give common witness to the sanctity of human life, the dignity of marriage, and religious liberty for all persons.

But we need your help: our goal is one million signatures.

The marketing pros tell us we will never get to a million signatures without expensive advertising. But we want to prove them wrong. And we can: just think if each person who has signed the Declaration were to get just two others to sign. That would be one million people standing arm in arm in defense of the most vital moral truths in our society.

Remember, too, we are not just collecting signatures; we seek a movement of people defending the truth in the public square. We are already witnessing signs of this: Christians in Mobile, Alabama called us 13 days before Christmas to tell us they were planning a large ecumenical gathering for the 23rd of December. I (Chuck Colson) agreed to speak. At 6:00 AM on December 23, 2,000 citizens, led by clergy from all over the city, gathered in a packed hall in the Convention Center for a rousing rally. Seldom have I seen so much excitement in one room - and all of this was accomplished just by word of mouth with only 11 days to organize!

Just ten days ago, Cardinal Rigali of Philadelphia, Archbishop Wuerl of Washington, DC, Archbishop Dolan of New York and Archbishop Kurtz of Louisville reached out to all of their brother Catholic bishops asking them to spread this document throughout their dioceses and encourage their clergy and faithful to study it and join as signatories.

The Archbishop of Detroit has planned a grassroots effort throughout his archdiocese. The Bishop of Phoenix has already organized a grassroots effort there.

We are also receiving many reports of evangelical gatherings in a number of areas - and many evangelical pastors referring to the Manhattan Declaration in their sermons.

This bold and exciting movement needs to reach 100 or 200 cities in America. Why not? Can you help? We are urging you to encourage your pastors and community leaders to do what these other cities are doing. Organize ecumenical meetings organized around the Manhattan Declaration; get other concerned citizens to join the effort. Get on the internet or phone and ask friends to join you. If you let us know you want to organize something we can help link you up with others in your area.

As with any grassroots movement, the strength and energy has to come from the people. We have no staff and limited budget. We're people who care passionately and deeply about life, marriage, and liberty. So here's what we are asking you to do.

  1. Pray fervently. Great movements of faith have always spread on the wings of prayer.
  2. Know the issues. If you study this Declaration - and a study guide is available on our website - then you can winsomely explain and defend it to your neighbors and friends. The document itself makes a great apologetic defense for these moral truths.
  3. Look for resources on this website as we're able to post them, and search the websites of the Christian organizations that offer resources in these three areas. You can see the names of the various leaders who have signed the Declaration and then visit their websites.
  4. Of utmost importance, get your own church involved. As pastors preach, the movement will spread. Prayer meetings and Bible studies on the Declaration are being conducted in many churches, which is a great step.
  5. Make full use of Facebook, Twitter, and all the devices available today for social networking. Or just go to gatherings in your own community and speak out on this issue. Cultures are changed over the backyard fence, the barbeque grill, and in hair salons - always from the bottom up. Do everything you can possibly do to educate others.
  6. Organize local gatherings like the one in Mobile. If you want an audio or video of Chuck Colson's talk at the event, you will be able to see it on the website in the next few days. You can also read a firsthand report on how they did this.
  7. If you are a pastor or ministry leader let us know if you would like to be added to the Additional Signers list on the website.
Just think what might happen in our land if one million courageous Christians declared their uncompromising allegiance to Jesus Christ and to biblical faithfulness on some of the most urgent moral issues of our day.

May God give us the strength to do what He is so clearly calling us to do. From our perspective, this is a cause worth giving every last ounce of effort and energy we have.

Nancy Pelosi Rallies for the "Nuclear" Option

The Associated Press released a story called, “Democratic Leaders Coalesce on Healthcare Strategy.”
Nancy Pelosi shrugged off criticism that the “nuclear” option, which is the only strategy that allows a bill to require 51 Senate votes rather than 60, was designed to deal with the federal budget, not health care reform. She said, “The idea that, at any given time, the Senate would have 60 votes was not what we would call the most ironclad assumption. We have always thought, ‘What if?’ You know, ‘What if the policy decisions are such that they can’t get 60 votes for it?’”
The New York Times and the Associated Press both pointed out that such a strategy would leave pro-life Democrats out in the cold. Using a “nuclear option” to pass an amendment to the Senate Health Care Bill would require enacting the pro-abortion Senate bill into law.
It would also require the majority of Democrats, who oppose the Senate Health Bill, to pass the bill with the vague hope that it would be improved later.
It is clear that Obama, Pelosi, and Reid will use any trick, twist any arm, and take any risk to pass the greatest expansion of abortion since Roe v. Wade.

This Is No Time To Give Up!

White House and top congressional Democrats are not giving up on passing a pro-abortion health care bill!

WASHINGTON (January 26, 2010, 9 AM EST) – The Obama White House and top Democratic congressional leaders, although shaken by the January 19 election of Republican Scott Brown to the Senate seat previously held by Senator Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.), nevertheless are making plans to try to push broad health care legislation through Congress within a matter of weeks -- meaning that pro-life interests remain in grave jeopardy.

On January 25, the Associated Press reported the emergence of a new plan that involves House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca.) seeking to muster enough support among House Democrats to win House passage of the health care bill (H.R. 3590) that was passed by the Senate on December 24. If the Senate Bill passes the House with no amendments, it would be sent straight to President Obama to be signed into law. (Read the AP story here.)

In recent weeks, National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) lobbyists have been busy educating members of the House about how enactment of the abortion-related provisions of the health care bill passed by the Senate (H.R. 3590) would constitute the biggest expansion of abortion by Congress since Roe v. Wade.

"The Senate bill would result in direct federal funding of abortion, federal subsidies for private abortion insurance, and federal pro-abortion mandates," said NRLC Legislative Director Douglas Johnson. "This bill would be, by far, the biggest expansion of abortion ever approved by Congress since Roe v. Wade."

Johnson explained, "In contrast, the abortion-related provisions of the health bill passed by the House on November 7 [H.R. 3962], as it was amended by the NRLC-backed Stupak-Pitts Amendment, would preserve long-established federal policies -- preventing federal subsidies for abortion, preventing pro-abortion federal mandates, and protecting the conscience rights of pro-life health care providers."

To view or download a letter sent by NRLC to members of the U.S. House, explaining six major abortion-related problems with the Senate-passed bill, click here.

This is no time to relax: Each member of the House should be urged to oppose the Senate-passed health bill (H.R. 3590) because of the provisions that would result in abortion mandates and abortion subsidies. It is especially important that House Democrats who voted for the Stupak-Pitts Amendment on November 7, 2009, hear from constituents in opposition to the Senate bill. To view the House roll call on the Stupak-Pitts Amendment, click here.

The legislative situation may change rapidly -- check here frequently for updated information. NRLC will continue to review any new proposals as they emerge, and will continue to urge lawmakers to oppose any bill that lacks adequate protections against federal abortion subsidies and pro-abortion mandates, or that would lead to government-dictated rationing of lifesaving medical treatments.

Time is short! Please telephone the offices of your U.S. Senators and your U.S. House member. The Washington offices of your representatives can be reached through the Capitol Switchboard, 202-224-3121. If you scroll to the bottom of this alert, you will find additional suggestions for ways to communicate with your federal representatives on this issue.

What You Can Do Now

* Please take a few minutes to use the form here (scroll to bottom of link) to send messages to your U.S. House member and to your two U.S. Senators to urge them to oppose any final health care bill that does not contain the Stupak-Pitts pro-life amendment. You can modify the suggested message as you see fit -- for example, to offer your views on other components of the legislation, including those relating to rationing of lifesaving medical treatments. When you fill in your mailing address, your messages will automatically be directed to the appropriate U.S. House member and to your two U.S. Senators.

* In addition, please TELEPHONE the offices of your two U.S. Senators, and your U.S. House member. Give your name and address, and tell the lawmakers' staff persons that you wish to be recorded as "opposed to the health care legislation, because the abortion language adopted by the Senate is unacceptable." The offices of any member of Congress can be reached through 202-224-3121. You can also find the direct-dial numbers (and fax numbers) for the Washington and in-state offices of your U.S. Senators and House member by calling up their individual profiles on this website, here.

* Also, please send short letters to the "letters to the editor" features of your local newspapers, in order to alert your fellow pro-life citizens to the pro-abortion policies that the Obama White House and the pro-abortion lobby are trying to smuggle into law through "health care reform." You can find contact information for your local news media in our "Media Guide" here.

Heroic Pro-Life Quarterback Needs Support

Yesterday, the National Organization for Women launched an effort to call on CBS to drop a pro-life ad from the Super Bowl commercial line-up. The ad, produced by Focus on the Family, tells the story of Pam Tebow’s decision to continue with her pregnancy against doctor’s advice and give birth to the college football star, Tim Tebow.

NOW and company are losing their grip as their pro-abortion position sinks in public opinion. I had no idea NOW leaders were such experts on sports! Missed that part of their mission.

What is real here is NOW’s desperation to keep full information from women and rip apart a young man who has the courage of his convictions.

When someone this prominent is willing to put himself out there with a positive message about Life, we need to defend him.

Click here and go to our page, where you can send your name and a message of encouragement to Tim Tebow and his family.

All the messages from SBA List members will be combined and sent to him. Let’s show Tim Tebow that the pro-life movement is standing behind him!

March for Life 2010 in review

For Footage of the March for Life click here

From Ron Boak, Activism Co-Coordinator:

The final count was 37. We had about 13 cancellations in the last few days before the march. Of the 37, 22 were from Geretti and 15 were from Mary Mother of the Redeemer (MMR).

The march was fantastic. We were all concerned about the weather reports before the march that indicated that Washington, DC would experience sleet, rain/snow mix. As it turned out, the weather was just fine for the march. The Holy Spirit must have heard the prayers of all the marchers and provided us with great weather for this annual demonstration of witnessing for the sanctity of life.
We arrived at the Basilica about 10:05 a.m., and many of us were able to attend mass. Of course, the main (upper) church was packed to overflowing. Cardinal Rigali was the lead celebrant and gave the homily. We left the Basilica at 11:20 via the METRO to get downtown. Everything went extremely smoothly.
As for the "feel" of the march, most people who went last year thought there were MORE people this year. I would estimate the crown at 200,000 - but I don't know what the official count was. 12 of us from Goretti stayed in a group during the march. When we gathered for the march with the archdiocese of Philadelphia at 6th street and Constitution Ave., Cardinal Rigali was just a few dozen feet from us. As it turned out, we were very close to the front of the march, maybe a 100 feet behind the lead banner. The "Goretti twelve" were able to stick together as we marched all the way to the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court. I don't know for sure where the other Goretti marchers were - it's so easy to lose sight of anyone in such an enormous crowd.
Near the Supreme Court, cardinal Rigali was standing on the side of the street near the curb. Barbara Braun went over with 2 of her children to say hello to him. A sort distance up closer to the Supreme Court steps, Fr. Frank Pavone from Priests for Life was standing on the curb. I went up and said to him, "Thank you father for all that you do." He replied, "We're all in this together." We left the Supreme Court and made our way to Union Station for our trip back to the basilica. Again, the trip went extremely smoothly.
One of the more interesting aspects of the March this year was the attendance of groups from Europe. There were groups from France and Italy who joined the March in solidarity with all of us Americans who are Pro-Life. I was told that this is a growing phenomenon and we can expect more particiaption from Europeans in the future. What a wonderful development!
We tired and hungry pilgrims left the basilica about 4:30 and traveled to the Country Buffet on the way back home for an enjoyable meal. We arrived at Goretti about 9:15 p.m. Jim Petro from Goretti took some pictures. I'll contact him and see if I can distribute them to the RL Committee and Frs. Peterson and Brownholtz.
All in all, it was a powerful expression of Christian unity and prayer for the unborn.
Much of the success for this year's march must go to Nancy. As you know, Nancy started her new job on Monday and was not able to attend the march. She organized everything up to the last week prior to the march, i.e., arranging for the bus, taking/making phone calls, preparing the contact list, reserving dinner arrangements at the restaurant, etc. I just happened to be able to attend the march and coordinate things "on the ground."

Pax Christi vobiscum.

THANK YOU!!!

A special thank you to all who came out in support of life yesterday! We sent a 52 passenger bus to Washington, D.C. for the March, as well as had 14 parishioners join in the 20-Mystery Rosary for the Unborn in our church at 1:22pm.

A Day of Prayer & Penance

The following taken from the EVERY CHILD BRINGS US GOD'S SMILE - Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities US Conference of Catholic Bishops website www.usccb.org/prolife

In all the dioceses of the United States of America, January 22 (or January 23, when January 22 falls on a Sunday) shall be observed as a particular day of penance for violations to the dignity of the human person committed through acts of abortion, and of prayer for the full restoration of the legal guarantee of the right to life. The Mass "For Peace and Justice" (no. 22 of the "Masses for Various Needs") should be celebrated with violet vestments as an appropriate liturgical observance for this day.

General Instruction of the Roman Missal, no. 373

FRIDAY OF THE SECOND WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME
1 Sm 24:3-21 / Mk 3:13-19

HOMILY NOTES

  • Today we commemorate the unborn, the most innocent and helpless of our brothers and sisters. The Lord cries out to us just as he did to David when asking him to spare the life of Saul. David heard the voice of God and realized that Saul was the Lord's anointed. If the Lord could plead on behalf of Saul, a sinful persecutor, how much greater are his pleas on behalf of the thousands of voiceless children brutally killed before their births every day in the United States.
  • An innocent child is a human person created by God with a specific purpose in life. Every unborn boy and girl should be cherished, since each one has been created out of love.
  • God knows each and every one of us by name; he has counted every hair on our heads and every minute of our lives. We must cherish all human beings, including the new children with which he blesses us.
  • Today's psalm reads: "have mercy on me, God, have mercy." May the Lord have mercy on those who may never leave the womb alive; may the Lord have mercy on doctors who are destroying human lives; may he have mercy on all those who are misleading others into thinking that abortion is a legitimate expression of personal liberty. May the Lord teach us all to respect and cherish the gift of human life.
INTERCESSIONS FOR LIFE

That every child may be given the opportunity to live in an environment of love and care;
We pray to the Lord:

That politicians and world leaders may guide society according to the principles of right reason, respecting the most fundamental and basic right of each person, which is to live;
We pray to the Lord:

That all parents may seek the good of their children, bringing them ever closer to God;
We pray to the Lord:

That any mother contemplating an abortion may realize the beautiful gift of new life and embrace her child with gratitude and joy, with the support of family and friends;
We pray to the Lord:

That women and men who have been scarred by abortion may turn away from the temptation of discouragement and despair, and find light and joy in the forgiveness of christ;
We pray to the Lord:

That all who defend life may find the necessary strength and courage to continue despite great challenges;
We pray to the Lord:

***God bless us one and all for the gift of life and to bear witness to defend it not just for 1 day or 1 month but every day till Our Lord calls us home to himself!

Safe Abortions

Safe Abortion Continues to Kill America's Women and Children

Contact: Phil Magnan, Director, Biblical Family Advocates, 619-962-0659, phil@bfamilyadvocates.com

SAN DIEGO, Dec. 3 /Christian Newswire/ -- The recent stunning case of abortionist Bertha Pinedo Bugarin being charged with pretending to be a physician and performing abortions without a medical license is only the tip of the iceberg in the abortion industry. The entire industry is rank with women being brutalized emotionally and physically by the procedure that at times is even forced on them. Yet that bloody trade praises itself for being safe and legal. What is also not heard on the evening news is that safe and legal abortion continues to kill many women in America.

It should be astounding to hear that the abortion industry in America potentially performs 7-13 million chemical, mechanical and surgical abortions each year. With that comes the fact that there is big money to be made in that industry. Billions of tax payer dollars have been given by the Federal government to support abortion services. In fact, the selling of abortion is a way of life for many of these clinics as witnessed by former abortion clinic operator Carol Everett.

Additionally, evidence continues to grow that employees at Planned Parenthood do not report the sexual predators that impregnate minor girls.

"How much more evidence do we need to see to it that the horrendous practice of abortion is abolished? Why will we as a people continue to fund and legalize the genocide of so many children? How many women have to be killed, injured, rendered sterile or emotionally maimed for life before we understand that the abortion provider in America is truly doing al-Qaida a great service by wiping out our own citizens at our own expense. Must I also state the obvious, abortion is never safe for children in the womb!" says Phil Magnan President and Pastor of Biblical Family Advocates.

Magnan continued by saying, "Many years ago several pro life advocates, including members of Operation Rescue and myself pleaded with the Chula Vista Ca. City Council to do something about the clinic that has been recently implicated in the Bertha Pinedo Bugarincase. That clinic was reported to have hired a convicted sex offender as well as a doctor who had performed botched abortions. At that time the City said that they were powerless to do anything about it and said that it was a health department matter. The City at that time did not take their commitment to protect women at the abortion clinics seriously.

But recently we have been greatly pleased that the year long investigative work of Chula Vista Police Chief Rick Emerson helped to put this harmful clinic out of business. He stated in an LA Times article that "patients were subjected to pain and risk of great bodily injury because of Bugarin's lack of medical training."

Biblical Family Advocates implores other governmental bodies to take the lead in protecting women from being harmed by abortion and consider the fact that they have been complicit for many years in the shedding of innocent blood, when all along they should have protected our children. The shame of allowing slavery and racism should remind us that we should never again allow the law of the land to deny anyone the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

The Cost of Abortion

The following are just a few statistics compiled by Dr. Chris Kahlenborn and Dr. Brian Clowes of Human Life International. Dr. Chris Kahlenborn estimates that in the U.S. from 1973-2004 there has been 46 million induced abortions and 447 million chemical/mechanical abortions. Worldwide his estimates are 1.3 billion induced abortions and 1.7 billion chemical/mechanical abortions. This is a total of 3 billion, half the current population of the world! 1,197,533 Americans were killed in all wars from the American Revolution up to December 31, 2005. Monetary costs of all wars during this period: $1,066,562,000,000. (1.06 trillion dollars). Lives lost to abortion: 47.8 million (and remember that statistics were only available since 1973) The estimated monetary cost of abortion: $127,510,000,000,000. (127.51 trillion) Estimated taxes lost due to abortion $29,683,000,000,000. (29.6 trillion)

"Life will tragically end for the human race if we begin to decide who is worthy to live and who is not. When we begin to study the human life as something other than sacred, that is when all morals disappear, and we disappear with them."
-Vianna Hammon

"I Regret My Abortion"

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- It has become a hallmark of every March for Life in January in the nation's capital and for good reason. That's the gathering of women who have had abortions who yearn for the opportunity to encourage their peers to not make the same mistake they did by having an abortion after an unplanned pregnancy.

From housewives to businesswomen to average Janes and famous people like actress Jennifer O’Neill and Martin Luther King Jr. niece Alveda King -- women from all walks will be present for the Silent No More event.

These courageous women from across the country will testify to their abortion experiences this Friday afternoon in front of the Supreme Court building.

At the site of the landmark where the legalization of abortion began, they will tell about the lives of children who came to an end.

“The Silent No More Awareness Campaign was born of the grief, pain, and suffering that those of us who have had abortions know all too well,” says Georgette Forney, a co-founder of the group who has her own personal abortion experience.

“We are growing in number because women have found that abortion is not the answer, it’s the problem," she tells LifeNews.com.

Fr. Frank Pavone, the director of Priests for Life will join Forney and other post-abortive women as the March for Life reaches the top of Capitol Hill.

He finds their personal witness more compelling than anecdotes from abortion advocates who claim abortion is good for women.

“The empty slogans of the child-killing industry avoid the realities of abortion,” he stated. “The Silent No More Awareness Campaign lives and breathes those realities every day. One can't help but be moved and motivated by their stories.”

Janet Morana, another co-founder of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign says the post-abortive women's group will be more visible at the March for Life this year.

“In addition to our signature ‘I Regret My Abortion’ and ‘I Regret Lost Fatherhood’ signs, we have distributed across the country over 45,000 new signs that say, ‘Women Do Regret Abortion’ and ‘Men Regret Lost Fatherhood.’ The message is simple, but in the lives of our members, profound," she told LifeNews.com.

Since the launching of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign in 2003, 3,423 women and men have shared their testimonies publicly at over 489 gatherings in 48 states and seven countries.

More than 6,200 people are registered to be Silent No More. Raising awareness about the hurtful aftermath of abortion and the help that is available to cope with the pain are two of the campaign's goals.

Pro-Abortion Media Bias

Former New York Times reporter Alex S. Jones has written a book, Losing the News, saying that journalism is in a crisis and that government help may be necessary to save it. He doesn't insist, however, that political bias has had any significant role in this decline. Instead, he sees the bias in the mainstream media as not political but "cultural." He defines this as "a set of beliefs" that can "skew" reporting.

Taking the word "political" out of the equation doesn't make any sense. A cultural bias has a political impact. And I certainly don't share his idea of getting the government involved at any level in financing journalism or journalists.

But the Jones book is helpful in citing examples of how this "cultural bias" is reflected in coverage of actual issues. He admits, in one of the best parts of his book, that the issue of abortion has been covered in a biased way by many news organizations.

Jones, Director of Harvard University's Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy, says, "Reporters as a group tend to be pro-choice, and pro-life advocates have long complained that these biases have skewed the way the story is reported."

Jones, admittedly pro-choice himself, nevertheless agrees with the pro-lifers, and cites coverage of partial birth abortion. This is a particularly hideous procedure in which the head is punctured so that the child can be removed from the womb dead.

He describes how Peter Jennings of ABC News, The Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, and other major news organizations claimed that the procedure was relatively rare, amounting to a couple hundred or so a year. The CBS "60 Minutes" program even ran a story justifying partial birth abortion because of what carrying the child to term might do to the mother. The coverage was "tilted," Jones admits.

Fourteen months after a bill banning partial birth abortion was introduced in Congress, Jones notes, Ruth Padawer of the Bergen County Record investigated and determined that the procedure was not rare. She documented at least 1,500 in New Jersey alone in one year.

Jones says David Brown of The Washington Post followed up, finding the same facts on a national scale. "Shockingly-and disappointingly-the other great news organizations generally ignored what Padawer and Brown had found," he says.

Jones, then a reporter on a PBS show, did a story about coverage of partial birth abortion, concluding that the media had failed to cover the issue properly. He says that he and his producers debated whether to even run their findings, fearful that pro-lifers would use them against the pro-choice side. But they went ahead with the truth.

Pro-abortion media bias is something that Accuracy in Media has documented and complained about for years. It was so bad that, in 2000, we documented how the New York Times and USA Today had rejected a paid ad from Focus on the Family criticizing partial birth abortion. The bias extends to refusing to cover scientific evidence showing that having abortions increases the possibility of a woman having breast cancer.

Media hatred of Sarah Palin can also be explained, at least in part, because of her pro-life stand. As we put it in an AIM Report, "Beyond her role as a pro-life mother who loves her husband, Palin is a reminder to the feminists that what they are screaming for in the battle for the right to 'choice' is not only a human life but in many cases a disabled child, one of the most innocent and defenseless among us."

Abortion is common in today's America for those considered to be disabled or defective.

The good news this time around, on the eve of Friday's January 22 March for Life in Washington, D.C., is that people around the country and the world with access to the global Catholic television network EWTN will be able to watch the protest themselves.

A release from EWTN points out: "With Congress now meeting to resolve differences between the Senate and House versions of the health care bill-which includes the Senate version's massive funding of abortion-the 2010 March for Life has become one of the most important in history."

Pro-life organizations may link to the EWTN web site Jan. 21-24 for live streaming audio and video of the March for Life and related historic events (www.ewtn.com/audiovideo). Other resources can be found at www.ewtn.com/prolife. The actual March for Life on Friday will air at 11 a.m., Jan. 22 (live), and encores at 10 p.m. that night.

EWTN is also airing some important pro-life documentaries you will never find on the major television networks. The first, "Demographic Winter: The Decline of the Human Family," is described as an examination of the dangers facing society and world economies as a result of declining populations around the globe.

It airs at 10 p.m. ET, Wednesday, Jan. 20, with an encore at 5 a.m. ET, Saturday, Jan. 23. Another documentary, "Demographic Bomb: Demography is Destiny," describes how population control programs have violated human rights and created an imbalance in the world's economy. Call it what you will-political or cultural bias. The fact is that we don't have to take it anymore. You don't have to "lose the news." But you can "lose the bias." And this is something to celebrate.

It is only a "crisis" for the liberals in the media losing their power and influence.

Pro-Abortion Defeat in Massachusettes

Last night, radical pro-abortion Senate Democratic Candidate Martha Coakley was handed a bruising, come-from-behind defeat by Republican Scott Brown, who built his entire campaign on opposing health care reform, in the most Democratic state in America.

Do you think Nancy Pelosi got the message?

Late last night, after the defeat, Nancy Pelosi said, “We will get the job done. I am confident of that. I have always been confident of that.” She is determined to snatch a pro-abortion victory from the jaws of defeat. We must not let her.

The Obama administration is claiming that this vote is not a referendum on health care reform. Your elected representatives need to hear the truth from you.

Tell your Senators and Representative that when Ben Nelson caved on his stance against abortion funding in health care reform by switching his vote when Harry Reid offered him a special deal, the American people lost their faith in this health care bill.

The White House has announced it is redoubling its attempts to capture the vote of Republican Olympia Snowe, one of the two Republicans who opposed the defeated Nelson-Hatch Amendment that would have banned abortion funding in the Senate Health Care Reform Bill. There is little doubt that the Obama Administration hopes to use Senator Snowe as the critical final vote to pass a final health care reform bill that funds abortions.

Meanwhile, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) said that “the Senate bill is better than no bill at all,” indicating that the Democratic leadership may attempt to ram the pro-abortion Senate Health Care Bill through the House of Representatives before Scott Brown can be seated.

Tell your Senators and Representative that the defeat of Martha Coakley was not a license to ram the pro-abortion Senate Health Care Reform Bill down American throats.

We have come too far and fought too hard against this massive expansion of abortion to let up the pressure now that the enemies of life are reeling from their painful defeat.
