This week, Jesus is 17 weeks old and his mother, Mary, has entered her fifth lunar month of pregnancy. Lanugo hair appears on his head and body. Vernix caseosa is forming on his skin. He can hiccup so forcefully that the Blessed Virgin Mary can feel it on the outside of her belly. Child Jesus, growing in the womb, give us the strength to protect all people, especially the tiniest of growing babies.
