President Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will force a vote this week -- probably Friday, March 19, or Saturday, March 20 -- on the massive health care bill that has already passed the U.S. Senate. This bill will result in government-funded abortion, government subsidies to purchase private health plans that cover abortion, and federal mandates that will expand access to abortion.Pelosi does NOT yet have the votes she needs, but she and President Obama are pressing hard to get them -- and the battle is too close to call.
